FACTS: Located in Camden, Maine
WHAT I ORDERED:
Clam Chowder (Served with a Biscuit)
Lobster Roll Platter
Blueberry Pie (a la mode)
Based on our Innkeeper’s suggestion, it was mandatory that we order a lobster roll from Marriner’s. And, because of the cool and rainy weather conditions, we started out with a bowl of homemade clam chowder, which turned out to be the perfect consistency–and the perfect choice.
Now, on to the real star of the show: the lobster roll. Surprisingly, it exceeded my expectations. Served on a toasted bulkie roll, instead of a traditional hotdog bun, this version is jam-packed with fresh lobster meat. In fact, I’ve yet to see this many lobster pieces stuffed into one sandwich, making it one of the best values around. It was absolutely delicious, and I loved every bite!
Of course, we couldn’t leave without also trying a piece of the homemade blueberry pie (a la mode). Yum! Although it was tasty, I’ve had better. Overall, though, my meal was great, and I was happy to have ended it this way.
Despite the lack of ambience and the unassuming storefront, the food is fantastic, and I highly recommend it.
QUICK TIDBIT: If you are a fan of fried clam strips, look no further. They looked as abundant and terrific as the lobster roll. Next time!
